Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

  • We work with individuals, families, business owners, corporate executives, and retirees who are seeking personalized financial guidance. Our clients often value a collaborative relationship and a long-term approach to financial planning and investment management.

  • Our services are designed to support a range of financial needs and circumstances. Depending on the scope of services requested, certain account minimums or planning fees may apply. We are happy to discuss whether our services are an appropriate fit during an introductory conversation.

  • Our onboarding process typically begins with an initial conversation to understand your goals, priorities, and financial situation. If we decide to move forward, we gather relevant information, review your current financial picture, and develop recommendations tailored to your needs. We then discuss implementation and establish an ongoing review process.

  • You can schedule an introductory conversation by using the “Schedule a Call” button on our website or by contacting our office directly. The initial meeting is an opportunity to learn more about your goals and determine whether our services may be a good fit for your needs.

Our Services

  • We offer both investment management and comprehensive financial planning services. Depending on your needs, planning may include retirement planning, tax-aware strategies, education funding, estate considerations, insurance analysis, and other areas of financial decision-making.

  • We can help identify estate planning and legacy considerations as part of your overall financial strategy. Because we are not attorneys, we do not provide legal advice or draft legal documents, but we may collaborate with your estate planning attorney and other professionals as appropriate.

  • Yes. We work with business owners on financial planning issues that may relate to business transitions, succession, retirement, and long-term personal financial goals. When appropriate, we coordinate with attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals involved in the planning process.

  • Yes. We can help evaluate education funding strategies, including 529 plans and other savings approaches, in the context of your broader financial plan. Recommendations are based on your goals, time horizon, and overall financial circumstances.

Fees & Costs

  • Our compensation depends on the services provided. We may receive advisory fees for investment management and financial planning services, and in some cases commissions may apply to certain products or services. We will explain how we are compensated and provide all required disclosures before any engagement begins.

  • We believe in being transparent about costs. Before implementing any strategy or opening any account, we will review the applicable advisory fees, expenses, and any other known costs associated with the services or investments being considered.

  • Fee arrangements vary based on the scope and complexity of the services provided. Investment management is often billed as an advisory fee based on assets under management, while financial planning may be offered for a separate fee. We will provide a clear explanation of the applicable fee structure before you decide to engage our services.

Our Approach

  • When acting in a fiduciary capacity, we are required to place our clients’ interests ahead of our own and to provide advice that we believe is in the client’s best interest based on the information available. The specific standard of care may vary depending on the type of service being provided.

  • Meeting frequency depends on your needs and the complexity of your financial situation. Many clients meet with us at least annually, while others may benefit from more frequent reviews during periods of transition, retirement planning, business changes, or other significant life events.

  • As an independent firm, we are able to evaluate a broad range of planning strategies and investment solutions rather than being limited to a single proprietary product platform. We believe this flexibility can support a more personalized planning process.

  • Client accounts are held with an independent custodian, and you retain ownership of your assets. Our firm maintains continuity and succession planning procedures designed to help ensure that clients continue to receive service and support in the event of an unexpected change affecting an advisor.

Investment Philosophy

  • Investment selection is based on your goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, tax considerations, and overall financial situation. We use a disciplined process to evaluate investments and construct portfolios that align with the objectives established during the planning process.

  • Market volatility is a normal part of investing. During downturns, we focus on your long-term plan, review whether your portfolio remains aligned with your objectives, and make adjustments when appropriate based on changes in your circumstances or investment strategy.

  • We may use active, passive, or a combination of investment approaches depending on the specific strategy and the needs of the client. The appropriate approach is determined through the planning and portfolio construction process rather than a one-size-fits-all methodology.
